Types of Classes: Yin and Sculpt

We offer lots of different kinds of classes at Yogi Colorado and Yin and Sculpt are two contrasting types of classes! Read to learn all the ins and outs of yoga sculpt!

Yin Yoga

This is a restorative type of yoga that targets the connective tissues deep within the body. During a yin class, you will stay on the floor and perform passive poses for a longer period of time. Props are often used to support the body and allow gravity to do all the work. Yin offers stress relief, increased blood flow, increased flexibility and balance.

Although yin isn't the upbeat, energizing workout that is associated with weight loss, research shows that yin can help you achieve your weight loss goals, if that is something you are working toward! Yin is very good at promoting relaxation and stress relief, therefore reducing cortisol levels in your body - this stress hormone is a major hurdle in many weight loss journeys!

All in all, yin yoga feels amazing!

Sculpt

If you are looking for something more upbeat and energizing, Sculpt is the class for you!

These class are fun and high-intensity workouts that incorporate yoga, weights and cardio. A simple flow leads to bursts of cardio, compound exercises and static holds for the extra burn. We play energetic music and encourage you to push yourself, while maintaining a safe environment. The savasana at the end is much deserved!
