FAQ’s
These are the most commonly asked questions!
I’ve never done yoga. Can I attend classes?
Absolutely! Many of our students have never tried yoga or are very new to the practice! In fact, we love introducing new students to yoga! It’s so much fun to see the growth new students experience in the first couple of months. Please attend - we’ll be so happy to practice with you!
I’m not flexible at all! Should I work on stretching before I try my first class?
This is a resounding no!!!! This is like asking if you have to be healthy before you go to a doctor. You do not have to flexible to do yoga. Flexibility is a benefit of yoga, not a requirement.
What do I need to wear?
Our community is very chill and we strictly don’t compete. Some yogis come in a cute outfit with matching leggings and a sports bra while others come in sweats and an old t-shirt. We are just happy to see you and support your commitment to your mind, body, and soul! Come in whatever you are most comfortable in.
Do I bring my own mat or do you provide one?
We offer free mat rental, so you are more than welcome to borrow a mat. However, if yoga is something that you do end up committing too, having your own mat can be a bit special. Your mat supports you through all of your struggles and triumphs in class! We sell cork mats and yoga beginner kits that contain a mat, block and strap.
Okay, I purchased a membership! How often should I plan on attending class?
We recommend at least twice a week, but lots of yogis attend much more than that! With a membership you can come as often as you like - even twice or more per day!
6. What’s the best class for an absolute beginner.
This depends on your goals! Feel free to give us a call at (720) 541-9641 for a custom recommendation. But a general guideline is if you are looking for mental benefits or flexibility try out a yin class. If you are looking for fitness and are generally already active, go to vinyasa or sculpt. If you are looking for fitness and are not active at all, but want a challenge, try hatha or gentle flow. And if you are nervous, go to yin! 7. Do you have hot yoga?
No, we chose to become a room-temperature yoga studio. Hot yoga fits into some yogis lifestyles, but we do not recommend it and caution against some of the risks involved with it.
8. When/What should I eat before class?
Generally, it’s fine to have a light snack before class, but try not to eat a large meal within 2 hours of class start time. Eat whatever you like! Food is nourishing to the body - please don’t allow yourself to feel guilty for something you have consumed.
9. Why don’t you have mirrors?
We mindfully chose not to include mirrors in our studio. Yoga is about how you feel and it’s not about judging yourself or competing against other students. Instead of spending the class looking at yourself and evaluating your perceived flaws, focus on how you feel and what feels good!
10.Do you have late cancellation or no-show fees?
No! We understand things come up and want to make coming to yoga class as stress-free and easy as possible. The doors to the building do close at 7 PM and sometimes we are able to leave a rock in the door to prop it open, but other times, it gets kicked out of place. Especially if you have a later class, please try to arrive on time. The stairs code is 1970, so you can make it up to our suite if you can make it in the building.
